"There are no exclusion proceedings underway against Laurent Castillo": the Nice MEP, close to Eric Ciotti, still sits within the European People's Party in Strasbourg

Nice MEP Laurent Castillo "has not been notified, either officially or unofficially, of the start of an exclusion procedure" from the European People's Party (EPP) in Strasbourg, according to the entourage of the Nice medical professor.
During the meeting of the Republicans' strategic council in April, some of its members debated the future of the MEP , elected on the list led by François-Xavier Bellamy, within the EPP because of his membership in the Union of the Right for the Republic, Eric Ciotti's party, allied with the National Rally, and his recent pro-RN positions, reports a source close to the council, who claims that the exclusion was validated and should have been effective before the end of April, before the EPP congress in Valencia, Spain.
The congress was held on April 29 and 30, "but at no time was there any question of excluding Laurent Castillo," notes a close friend of the elected representative from the Alpes-Maritimes region.
